Rafts
Raft; a flat structure, typically made of planks, logs, or barrels, that floats on water and is used for transport or as a platform for swimmers.
However in this instance a ceiling ‘raft’ is generally now of an MF
construction, created to give the effect of a floating ceiling section
without any obvious means of support or fixings.
The continual development of Interior design concepts has, in recent
years, resulted in Architects designing Ceiling Rafts as an alternative,
or in addition to, single level suspended ceilings.
These provide a three dimensional visual contrast, and in addition,
create the feel of enhanced headroom. We have been at the forefront of
this trend, and by using our considerable knowledge of materials and
manufacturing experience, have engineered beautifully crafted solutions
to bring into reality a wide range of architectural concepts.
We have produced flat and curved rafts, in perforated or plain patterns
from a number of different mediums with amazing results.
All these raft ceiling products are bespoke designs, manufactured to
suit your needs for each building.
Ceiling rafts are often backlit up to the structural ceiling above with
hidden lighting to emphasis the floating effect further.
